Our Team Is Set

I'm thrilled to announce the final two members of our August team. Meredith Andrews joined us on our last November trip to Ouanaminthe. Meredith not only has a passion for serving needy children around the world, but she has a special place in her heart for little McKinsley, seen on her lap here. McKinsley has no parents and was found wondering around the Dominican Market by Pastor Willio several years ago. McKinsley is HIV positive and we pray daily for his health. I know Meredith will have the time of her life lovin' on this little guy when we arrive at the orphanage. She has waited patiently for the opportunity to return to Haiti, and the chance has finally arrived!
The final member of our team is Theresa Mayle. (Seen here with her father.) Although she has never gone to Haiti before, Theresa has joined my husband Eric on countless mission trips to Mexico and throughout the US. Theresa is ready for a trip like this. She is a nurse at the famous Mayo Clinic and certainly has a passion for serving. I can't wait to see just how she is transformed by serving in Ouanaminthe.
So here we are just 21 days away! I plan to post the names of the hotels, and transportation costs we encounter as a future road map for anyone else putting together a trip like this. It has certainly been more work that I anticipated, but what a ride!!!!
Our 5013C is still a necessity. I spoke with a friend of mine at church yesterday who mentioned he had access to many attorneys who might be willing to put this together for us. This is just one area I have no understanding in, but am willing to learn!
All donations to this point have been placed in a secure "Haiti" account through our church but won't be touched until our "non-profit board" is put together. I can't thank everyone enough for your compassion and generosity in supporting this future school build and for caring for these beautiful children. I know they appreciate you as well.
God Bless!
