Haiti Marathon Story 2011

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

I am trying very hard to be patient with the fact that not everyone has seen the "need" in Haiti as my group has seen it. I can't expect that everyone will immediately share the same desire to help these people having not seen the faces of these precious children. Yet, I am struggling with the fact that Haiti seems forgotten. I have posted a link to an article sent to me today titled "CNN: Hunger In Haiti." Please take a moment to read this. How can we turn our back on what is happening here? Where do we start in making change? Today I am feeling a bit paralyzed and overwhelmed in how to help. We will start small.... The children in the "Haiti Hope Home" need beds to sleep on. They currently sleep on cement floors. The cost of one bunk bed is $150.00 and we need only16 beds. This seems a good place to start. I miss the children dearly!
